Mr. Pieroni‘s career spans a number of mandates in both private and public entities.
Worked both privately and publicly, standing out in the private sphere his experience in having achieved the listing of a company whose activity was based in Uruguay against EURONEXT, France, as well as having led the listing of another company with activities in Uruguay. with the SEC-USA for listing on Wall Street.
He has also served as Director of a credit administrator and as President of a company dedicated to micro-credits. He has also been Compliance Officer of institutions regulated by the BCU, as well as having held the position of External Director of different Securities Agents.
In the public sphere, Mr. Pieroni served as Auditor of the Court of Accounts of the Republic, actively participated in PRONADE (National Program for the De-bureaucratization of the State), in the OPP as a member of the State Reform Advisory Group-GARE. In PLUNA, actively participating in the process of changing said company, from Ente Autónomo to PLUNA S.A. having held the position of Commercial Manager at PLUNA Ente Autónomo, and then taking care of the Administration and Human Resources Management at PLUNA S.A. He also worked as an Advisor in the MEF within the Macroeconomic Advisory.
He was Director of the Central Bank of Uruguay from 2002 through 2005 a difficult period in the country’s fiscal history and one in which Uruguayan financial system was dramatically reformed as the country’s foreign debt underwent a dramatic restructuring.
Economist graduated from the “Universidad de Ciencias Economicas”, UDELAR, in 1989. He has an Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Belgrano, Buenos Aires, Argentina, a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Financial Administration from the University of McGill, in Montreal Canada where, along with the Miguel de Cervantes University, Chile he also took a number of post graduate courses.
